How to Clean Your House for Thanksgiving

You can use a paper towel, set it down on the floor, and rub with your shoe to pick up any spots that the broom didn’t get.

If you have a dishwasher, put all the dishes from the sink inside it and start it up. Running a dishwasher will not give a bad impression, at least compared to a sink-full of dirty dishes. If you do not have a dishwasher, you should clean and put away as many dishes as you can.

Dust the Rest of the Home

Only go over the rooms in which your guests will visit, so focus on the dining room and living room first. Dust off the tables and pick up any clutter. This will make your home more presentable when the guests arrive.

  • Fluff the pillows on the couch
  • Turn off the overhead light in the living room and turn on the lamps
